Popping Wheelies on I-84 Through Danbury with Stolen Dirt Bikes Is Not Recommended

It was almost like the dirt bike robbers were showing off for the Connecticut State Police.

According to a story in the Danbury Daily Voice, a couple of Bethel guys decided to act before engaging their brain as they were traveling on stolen dirt bikes in Danbury along I-84 this past Saturday afternoon. Had these two geniuses explored their surroundings first, they would have spotted two state troopers off on the shoulder assisting a disabled motor vehicle. The troopers watched as the stolen dirt bike riders displayed their wheelie maneuvers for the troopers.

After the wheelie exhibition, one of the troopers turned on his lights and siren and began following the riders as they exited I-84 at Exit 4. The dirt bikers did not stop as they traveled along Mill Plain Rd. with the flow of traffic. Eventually one of the riders, 20 year old Jose Javier Garcia-Polanco of Bethel made the decision to exercise his intellect by making a turn onto a dead-end road. Obviously he was taken into custody. After posting $1,000 bond, Garcia-Polanco will be back in court on May 5.
