Police are looking into school threats in some Dutchess County school districts that were made within the last day, which among other things has led to the Poughkeepsie City Schools being closed for the day. The Poughkeepsie Journal reports this is after a threat was made on social media.

The Poughkeepsie district released this statement to families and staff last night according to the Poughkeepsie Journal:

Tuesday night, Superintendent Nicole Williams said a recent social media post with details of a potential shooting at Poughkeepsie High School caused the district to take action and ensure student safety by closing schools.
