There's a little less than a month to go until St. Patrick's Day, but you can get your Irish on this Sunday afternoon as Molly Darcy's in Danbury hosts a fundraiser for the annual Danbury St. Patrick's Day Parade.

The fun starts at 2 PM, with entertainment from Danbury's own Irish Rockers, the Mighty Ploughboys. Steve O'Tree and Friends, and the Highland Rovers will also perform. The Gilleoghan School of Irish Dance will be on hand with step dancing, and as a special treat, Celtic Cross Pipe and Drums will add to the Irish flair.

Suggested donation at the door is $15 and includes a buffet. Kids 12 and under are free. Proceeds from Sunday's event will go towards the 18th annual Danbury St. Patrick's Day Parade, which is set for Sunday, March 20th. The Danbury Ancient Order of Hibernians always schedules the parade for after St. Patrick's Day, so as not to compete with other area parades.

C'mon down, hoist one, and get the St. Patrick's Day season off to an unofficial start! I'll be the guy wearing a green shirt and drinking a beer. Molly Darcy's is at 39 Mill Plain Road in Danbury.

Here's one of the latest singles from the Mighty Ploughboys, who are hard at work on their new album.
