I've had my Pumpkin Spice Latte and now I've had my first cider donut of the season. We made our first stop of the year at Blue Jay Orchards yesterday and walked around the store looking at all the fun and delicious items they have for sale.

Soon we'll return to pick out our pumpkins to carve and put on the front porch. It's become a tradition for us each year to take the kids to Blue Jay's for pumpkin picking. They love to pick out their own pumpkins and come up with creative ideas of how to decorate them.

However, we don't just pick pumpkins. We're there for a while having fun with all the activities they offer. The kids love the wagon ride and we'll take their pictures in front of all the fun wooden cutouts (it's fun to see how much they've grown since last year's pictures).

Something else that we all like to check out at Blue Jay's is the bee hive. It's fun to try to find the Queen. It's behind the store, if you want to check it out.

Finally, our trip isn't complete until our daughter can "drive" the tractor in front of the store. Kids love climbing up there and pretending they are driving it through the orchards.

We'll make stops at Blue Jay's throughout the season for donuts or pies, but the pumpkin picking day is my favorite. The kids have so much fun and it's great to see others having as much fun as we are. I love New England in the fall!
