They are almost done with finishing the skate park in Danbury, CT. Ramps, metal poles, and everything else needed to build it, was brought from a skate park building company in Massachusetts. People are saying it could open before the new school year starts (which is pretty soon, scarily and unfortunately). Even the Mayor of Danbury, Mark Boughton tweeted yesterday, "Almost ready you skateboarders...". I think this is great news. Any activity that involves community building, and taking kids' attention away from smart phones is a good thing in my book.

The location of the park is near the railroad station in town and once it's finished, it sounds like its going to be beautiful. They are growing grass around the park so that it creates these awesome areas to watch other skaters. And its big! 6,300 square feet of cement for you to have a bunch of fun on. The city has been planning this park for more than 10 years, so there is no doubt that it's going to be pretty impressive.

Keep paying attention for this park to open! I feel like it's going to be a really fun place to hang out outside (which a lot of kids need these days).
