My alma-mater, Sacred Heart University, went home with another NEC title as SHU Baseball rocked the house in Norwich on Sunday.

According to the News-Times, SHU earned two runs at the top of the ninth inning to race past Bryant University, giving the Pioneers baseball club their fourth NEC Championship! They've earned another NCAA bid after this big win, so you know they're partying hard down in Fairfield.

SHU reports they end the regular season at 23-30-1, and continue with their NCAA Regional destination, which was announced on ESPNU. The Pioneers will be headed to Fort Worth TX.

It's always fun to read about your alma mater, a place where you spent at least four years of your life, and see how things have changed for the better. I say this because our sports teams back in my day weren't always that great, with the exception of our women's basketball team. Go Pioneers!
