Two days after the owner of a Danbury Pet Store was arrested on animal cruelty charges, one of the managers has now also been arrested. In a bizarre twist to an animal cruelty arrest earlier this week, Kathy Seton of Cold Spring, N.Y. was also charged Wednesday with animal cruelty, according to Danbury Daily Voice, however Danbury police said they did not have details on the charges against Seton.

Her boss, Richard F. Doyle, of Mahopac, N.Y., was charged earlier in the week on Monday with animal cruelty in connection with the care of two dogs and a kitten, two of which were euthanized as a result.

Doyle is the owner of American Breeders at 128 Federal Road in Danbury, as well as two stores with the same name in Mohegan Lake and Wappingers Falls, N.Y. and Seton is one of the managers at the Danbury Store.

According to court records, the alleged charges stem from incidents that occurred back in February, March and April. The investigation began in March after one of Doyle's employees made a complaint about the mistreatment of animals. The employee also said she was often told treat animals with medication and administer shots although she is not licensed to, the Daily Voice reports.

Doyle was arrested Monday on a warrant signed by a Danbury Superior Court judge. He was released on a written promise to appear in court on Aug. 6.
