Growing up we left cookies for Santa and left our teeth under the pillow for the Tooth Fairy, but this is a new one for me. It's a very cute idea, but I hadn't heard about it until I Googled "St. Patty's Day Ideas." Have you ever set a leprechaun trap?

I love this idea! Another quick Google search returned lots of great trap ideas. You can check out wikiHow for some easy trap instructions. My favorite is the hat trap. It looks pretty easy to make and it's very festive!

You can give your kids a little background about leprechauns to help get them in the spirit. The history of leprechaun folklore is easy to find and could be a fun family learning activity. Wikipedia has some information about the folklore and it also gives you some ideas for traps.

Are you going to try to trap a leprechaun for St. Patrick's Day? If you do, be sure to post a picture of your trap in the comments below!
