Should Hartford Get Funding For New Yard Goats Baseball Stadium?

First they stole my New Britain Rock Cats! Then they gave them the awful name Yard Goats! Now they WANT more money! I say "Hell NO"!

I loved my New Britain Rock Cats. Great family fun at a reasonable price. New Britain built a wonderful new stadium for the team awhile back, Lots of parking-easy in-easy out. Then in some back room dealings the team was whisked away to Hartford.

The reasonable part of me knows it isn't quite that simple but I'm still pissed!

According to Fox CT,  lawmakers are in heated discussions over whether the state should give financial help to Hartford for its $56 million venture to build a new baseball stadium.

In a nutshell - Connecticut charges a 10% admissions tax on all tickets at ballparks and arenas through out the state. That money goes back to the state, but Hartford is looking for that money to go into a special account used to pay down debt from building the stadium.

Back to my hissy fit ... I just feel as if the owners should have left well enough alone. I know, to many of you, that is a simplistic "girlie" idea.

But at the end of the day if all the parties involved believed that Hartford was a better place for the team to be - then they should have a way to cover ALL the costs going in.
