Life just got real good for single people here in Connecticut. A new study, which was just released, found that Fairfield County is the top spot in the country for singles.

The new study by 24/7 Wall Street revealed that Fairfield County is the #1 place in the entire U.S for singles. Now we say Fairfield County, but when you break it down, the best spots are actually Stamford, Bridgeport, and Norwalk.

The main criteria for this study was based on the concentration of restaurants and bars, and income levels to determine the best cities for singles. The latest U.S. Census revealed that almost half of people over 18 in America were actually single, and more then half of the adults who live in twenty of the twenty five cities on the list were single.

Here's a look at the Top 5 cities who made the list from 24/7 Wall Street, and the concentration of singles from each area.

5- Lawrence, Kansas: 51.9% single, annual personal income $41,897

4- Boulder, Colorado: 52.1% single, annual personal income $57,756

3- Ithaca, New York: 51.1% single, annual  personal income  $36,716

2- Pittsfield, Massachusetts: 53.2% single, annual personal income $52,685

1- Stamford, Norwalk, and Bridgeport, Connecticut: 47.6% single, annual personal income: $85,718

Just about all the cities on this list offer a higher then average number of places for social interaction, and in half the cities on the list, the annual personal income exceeds the national average.
