Snow Storm Stella Causes Big Problems for Connecticut Red Cross

The state of Connecticut pretty much came to a standstill March 14, causing a big issue for tons of residents. Here's something that doesn't necessarily come to mind while you're busy being concerned about the snow. We need blood.

March will go down in the memory books as one weird weather month for sure. It started with unusually warm temperatures of about 70, and then slammed us with snow storm Stella on March 14 that brought Connecticut to a stand still.

But did you know that March is Red Cross Month? A time to encourage people all across the country to give. Sadly Connecticut is falling short, partly because of the storm. I spoke with Valerie in the Farmington Red Cross headquarters and she told me that indeed Tuesday's snowstorm and Wednesday's continued clean-up caused the cancellation of 18 blood drives around the state, leaving Connecticut with 600 fewer pints than it expected to have at this time.

So with that in mind, as well as the fact that it's Red Cross Month, please give as soon as possible.
