After our hike at Kent Falls, the family was pretty hungry. So, we turned to Yelp to find a good place to eat, and Yelp did not let us down. It took us to When Pigs Fly Southern BBQ and we were glad it did.

My family likes to explore and try new places to eat. Of course, with the kids still being little, we have to make sure there is something for them to eat too. Our kids aren't into BBQ, yet. However, to our relief, When Pigs Fly BBQ does have sides of mac and cheese.

The restaurant is a little place and it looks how you would picture a roadside BBQ place to be in the south, complete with the creaking swinging screen door at the entrance. When we walked in we were greeted by some very friendly people who let us take our time to look at the menu, which is located right above the counter.

After we place our order we headed outside to sit. There is seating inside, but it was a nice day and we wanted to take advantage of that. It didn't take long at all for our orders to arrive. The kids each got mac and cheese and a cup of milk.

My husband and I both ordered the brisket sandwich, but he got a side of collard greens while I ordered a side of honey butter cornbread.

Everything was really good. The sauce on the brisket had a sweetness to it, which we both really liked. I'm not big into the smoky flavor that comes with a lot of the BBQ, so this was a welcome change for me.

For drinks my husband had their homemade lemonade and I ordered the Arnold Palmer. Both were very good as well. To see their menu you can visit their website.

I've already decided what I'm ordering the next time we stop there; the shrimp and creamy grits. It was a tough decision and, though I really enjoyed the sandwich, part of me is regretting not ordering the shrimp and creamy grits. It sounds so good!

We're definitely going to make a stop here again. I loved everything about this restaurant, including all the cute pig figures and statues!
