Okay, so maybe it's not going to be here next week, but spring is a lot closer than you might think! I decided to do a little research last night, because I'm pretty much done with winter for the year, and what I found gave me hope.

First of all, Daylight Savings Time is on March 8. That means in just 24 days it will be staying lighter out much later than it is now.

I can't wait for that!

Once it starts staying lighter in the evening, I think a lot of people are happier and can see a light at the end of the snow covered tunnel. After Daylight Savings Time, the first day of spring is not that far away (March 20).

The sky is already staying bluer a little later these days. I took the photo below last night at 5:10 and the skies were still pretty blue. It didn't last much longer, sunset was at 5:23 pm, but it is still uplifting when it's light out past 4:30 in the afternoon!

These numbers might make you feel better:

  • 36 days until spring
  • 24 days until Daylight Savings Time
  • 6 more Fridays until spring
  • 5 more weekends until spring

Hopefully, this will help get you through until the weather starts to warm up. We will all be grilling, barbecuing, swimming, and enjoying a beautiful New England spring and summer before you know it!

Mmmmmmm...I can smell that BBQ now!
