Missing Easton Couple, Sandy Hook Elementary School, Ct Public High Schools

State Police are joining the search for Jeffrey and Jeanette Navin. The Easton couple were reported missing August 7th. The State Police major crimes squad is now involved in the case. Police searched the Bridgeport home of the couple's son Kyle Navin yesterday as part of the investigation.

Good news for Connecticut. A new study places 15 of our high schools among the top 500 public high schools in the country. The highest ranking CT school on the Newsweek list is Weston High School in 47th place. Next is Staples High School in Westport at 63rd in the nation. Ridgefield and Newtown high schools also make the list.

The families of Sandy Hook Elementary School victims are filing an elections complaint against the National Rifle Association. The complaint accuses the NRA of illegally using money from its federal campaign account to try and defeat Governor Malloy last year.

Not such good news for Connecticut. The state is considered average when it comes to equality for women. WalletHub.com looked at eleven factors across all 50 states, including pay gaps, unemployment, college degrees, and average work hours, and ranked Connecticut 24th. The state is actually below average in education equality but well above average when it comes to women in politics. The best state for women is Hawaii, while the worst state is Utah.
