As the continued revitalization of Brookfield's Four Corners moves forward, a staple will stay, but with major improvements.

A long time eatery at the Four Corners in Brookfield, Connecticut has been the Subway restaurant. You can still enjoy them, but with an upgrade and a new address.

In a story from newstimes.com a home town favorite will become another part of the ongoing rejuvenation of the Four Corners.

Subway restaurant will move from its current spot on Federal Road into Brookfield Village. The new location is due to open in the middle of April and it will be the first commercial tenant to open up in the development intended for multiple uses. As people start to move in and call Brookfield Village home, the area will eventually include other places to eat and shop. The first Phase of the revitalization is almost complete, with the second Phase beginning soon.

When the new Subway opens it will be a first for Connecticut. I know you're raising your eyebrows in disbelief since the state is already populated with many Subway restaurants. But this one is different. It's going to be the first in Connecticut to feature their Fresh Forward design, with things like a fresh vegetable display, four-screen digital menus, brighter interior design, USB charging ports, free Wi-Fi and more.

With the history of Subway having its roots in Bridgeport, Connecticut where the first location opened in 1965, it's exciting to have this updated version being part of all of the updates to Brookfield's Four Corners.
