I know everyone's talking about "Super Bowl Sunday", but as far as we're concerned there's a much more important event taking place on Sunday.

With temp's in single digits and wind chills below zero for much of January I would suspect all eyes would be on Punxsutawney, Pa. this Sunday morning. It is there in a little hamlet called Gobbler's Knob that the worlds most famous weatherman, the prognosticator of prognosticators "Ground Hog Phil" will let us all know if winter is history or Mother Nature will deal us six more weeks of cold and snow. Yes a brutal cold winter can sometimes be so demoralizing that we look to a rodent for a ray of hope and sunshine in our cold grey and dismal lives.

All kidding aside, this is something that's actually on my own bucket list. A 2 day trip to Punxsutawney to celebrate with the ground hog. What a blast it must be. The only stipulation I would have is the word "don't" be stricken from my wife's vocabulary for those two days. Just like Bill Murray in the movie "Ground Hog Day" nothing would be beyond the realm of possibility.

It's like one big party for 2 full days, topped off with a pre-dawn trek to Gobbler's Knob and the official word from Phil. So you can keep your Super Bowl parties and Big Game pools, I have a date with a Ground Hog, one that on this given Sunday will share the stage with Peyton Manning and Richard Sherman, and if we're all lucky will give us more then either of those two can....An Early Spring.  Go Phil !!!!
