Apparently you can now go hiking with llamas in Connecticut. I didn't even know this was a thing! According to FoxCT,  comes a report that A.J. Collier from Rowanwood Farm, who owns the only licensed llama hiking company in the state said, "They do llama hikes in a lot of national forests and state parks."

Hmmmm! Why hike with a llama you might ask, instead of another human or maybe a dog? There seems to be no specific reason, but according to Collier, "Just walking your own llama, there's something so magical about it! Hikers tend to get attached to their 200 pound buddies!" I know you're going to ask, "Who's going to be on what side during the hike?" Because a llama's feet are agile, you always want him on the outside.

Make sure when you're hiking with your llama, you pet them on their neck, not their head. It's a 2 mile hike through the Paugussett State Forest which begins at McLaughlin Vineyards and take place Wednesdays through Sundays for the cost of $40. You must be 12 and over to walk a llama.
