As Back to School time gets closer and closer, the annual Tax-Free Week is getting ready to start on Sunday across Connecticut.

According to The News Times,  the week where tax-free purchases of clothing and footwear less than $100 starts Sunday and runs through the following Saturday!

Once you cross that $100 threshold, the normal CT sales tax of 6.35% will be added to purchases. With this tax-free week upon us, the Dept of Revenue Services expects consumers and shoppers to save about $6 million.

So Moms and Dads, get ready to start that Back to School or Back to College shopping this weekend on Sunday to save some money!  You know all the big retailers are pushing for school shopping to begin, so this will without a doubt help.

Shopping in New York?  Don't forget, year round, clothing and footwear items under $110 are tax-free, according to Patch.
