Puppies are cute, but they are a lot of work, and you have to be ready and have the patience for one. Believe it or not there are plenty of advantages to adopting an older dog.

Most people seem to shy away from the senior dogs when their up for adoption. They want a younger dog, or a puppy. What they don't always realize is that in most cases older dogs are a lot easier to acclimate to new surroundings, plus the Animal Welfare Society offers a great deal for seniors adopting a senior dog.

This week we're featuring Luther as our Kicks 105.5 Pet of the Week. Luther is a 12 year old Beagle, and is very friendly and playful. You would never guess he's a senior dog.

He came from the south, and is now looking for his new forever home.
