Sometimes, the dog you're looking at when you go to the shelter is not always the dog you're going to go home with. Dogs, like people, have different personalities in different situations.

Case in point, is our Pet of the Week. Mica is a fun, active three-year-old Border Collie mix who loves her morning run, and really loves play time.

Now when Mica visited our Kicks 105.5 studios, she was very well-behaved, but also a little on the shy side. At the shelter, Melody said she's a totally different dog. She's very playful, loves the attention, and will develop into a much more active dog after she's more comfortable in her environment.

This is why it's very important to talk to the experts at the Animal Welfare Society about the dog you may be thinking about adopting. They see these dogs round the clock, so they are familiar with their good behavior as well as their bad behavior, and they can give you an honest assessment of how the dog will be when you get him or her home.

With all that being said, let's meet Mica:
