Hope, it's all we have.

You just can't make this stuff up. The Hartford Connecticut stadium for the Yard Goats continues to be newsworthy. To date, I've written at least seven blogs about the excitement, sadness, defeat, and feelings of betrayal all rolled up into the game of baseball. Will Connecticut's Hartford Yard Goats ever have a stadium to call "home"?

Now after a period of the same old story, there might be a light at the end of the stadium tunnel. According to the Hartford Courant, Arch Insurance is agreeing to take over the minor league baseball project in Hartford and complete the ballpark before the 2017 season begins. Could there really be a Dunkin' Donuts Park? Could the Yard Goats actually play a game on their home field?

As the soap opera continued, the city of Hartford  fired developers Centerplan and DoNo Hartford back in June after they repeatedly missed deadlines to complete the project. Hartford Mayor Luke Bronin recently called on Arch to take over the project.

From the story in courant.com, you can see there are a lot of variables to the final outcome of the announcer yelling "play ball" in Hartford. But Connecticut, as well as our state capitol, doesn't need an unfinished monument to short sightedness and bad blood hanging over it's head. Hopefully the next time I blog about the Yard Goats it will be to tell you to get your butt into the seats to watch some baseball.
