UPDATE: The book is actually going to be the script in book form. So it is not another novel. Still excited though!

Original post:

Harry Potter is one of those series that appeals to lots of people. Both kids and adults love the books, and were very excited when it was announced that the books were going to be made into movies. Then, came the last movie, and we had no more books or movies to look forward too. Until now.

In addition to being a huge Disney fan, I am also a huge Harry Potter fan. From the second I started reading the first book, I was drawn into this fantastic world that J.K. Rowling had created. The characters and stories were easy to picture in my head as I read, and I loved how the books got darker the older the main characters got.

I don't know how she kept the connections between all the characters straight. I just picture this giant character map in her office with strings linking people together. It's brilliant writing in my opinion. Plus, I just love J.K. Rowling. I follow her on Twitter, and you would be hard pressed to find someone who can shut down internet trolls as fast, as intelligent, and as classy as she does. Love it.

Onto the "until now" part. There is going to be an eighth book released this July. It is called Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, and it takes place 19 years after the famous battle at Hogwarts. It sounds like it is going to revolve around Harry's son Albus and his struggles with his family's legacy. You can read more about the book and the release from Pottermore.

I am so excited for this book! Harry Potter fans have been waiting and hoping for a continuation of the series, and now we have confirmation that it is happening.

The book is going to be released on Sunday, July 31, of course, because that is Harry Potter's birthday. You can already pre-order your copy on Amazon. I pre-ordered mine this morning, and will be waiting anxiously for July 31 to arrive.

Are you as excited as I am about this new Harry Potter book?
