It's summertime and the living is easy. It's also the time to keep an eye out for summertime pests like ticks.

The summer is a great time for everyone in the family to be enjoying the outside, but you have to always be careful for the pests that come along with summer fun.

Whether you're camping deep in the woods, or just enjoying some backyard fun, ticks can be one of summers most annoying pests. They seem to be everywhere, and they can be one of the most dangerous at spreading disease.

If you’re bitten by a tick, you need to remove it without breaking the head in order to prevent risk of infection or contracting one of the many diseases they carry.

Thanks to the folks at theshrug.com, this simple trick with a cotton swab is a better alternative to a using your fingers or a pair of tweezers.

So, enjoy the summer fun, but just protect yourself from summer pests, and always check yourself for ticks after being out in areas where ticks are prevalent.
