Tim McGraw has been a family man ever since he and Faith Hill had their first daughter, Gracie, 18 years ago, and lately he has been letting that side of him shine. In fact, Gracie joined Dad onstage at his Nashville concert, and days after dropping her off at college, McGraw has dedicated an intimate performance to his oldest little girl.

The artist has been posting behind-the-scenes videos of himself and his band performing songs backstage at his shows, including some covers. This time, however, he chose to perform his 2006 hit "My Little Girl," as Gracie was on his mind.

“Alright, this is for Gracie,” McGraw says with a smile before beginning the song. “We dropped you off at college this weekend. I just want you to go kick a--."

He and his crew let out a whoop and holler for Gracie, then launch into the tune. The black-and-white styling casts a nostalgic tone over the video and creates an even more emotional setting for the stripped-down version of the song. It’s clear from his glistening eyes the artist feels the words with a new level of passion as he sings, in light of Gracie’s new journey into adulthood. He belts it well despite his emotions, and the sweet serenade is a gem in McGraw's backstage series.

McGraw has been on his Shotgun Rider tour, which wraps later this month. He has begun teasing what is presumably a new album with a release date of Nov. 6.
