The UCONN men took care of their National Championship last night with a 60-54 win over Kentucky. Tonight it's time for the UCONN Women to try and capture their national title as they take on arch rival Notre Dame.

Notre Dame and Connecticut may not have met in a year, but players and coaches do not need any reminders about how intense the rivalry is between the two women’s basketball perennial powers.

“I love the rivalry,” Notre Dame head coach Muffet McGraw said. “I think it's the one that gets your competitive juices flowing. I think it's something that you look forward to. You want to be coaching for this kind of game and this kind of moment.”

Meanwhile the media feeds into the frenzy that the two head coaches really don't like each other....UCONN's Gino Auriemma doesn't really buy the hype.

"I don't think I've every consciously tried to get under Muffet's skin — I do that privately, where we have fun with it. If she wasn't at Notre Dame I probably wouldn't try as hard to get under her skin, but the fact that she's at Notre Dame makes it easy."

The last time Notre Dame lost was to UConn 83-65 in the 2013 NCAA semifinals. It left a bitter taste in their mouths and fueled a history-making season for the program -- a season that did not include the Huskies on the regular-season schedule for the first time in decades due to conference realignment.

“Whether Connecticut wins or Notre Dame wins, the actual game itself will. The game of women's basketball come Wednesday morning will be better off for what happens on a Tuesday night in early April.

You can watch the game tonight from the Bridgestone Arena in the capital of Country Music, Nashville, Tn. starting at 8:30pm on ESPN.
