Town of Bethel Is Considering Some New Local Ordinances
Every one and awhile, some of our local towns come up with some new laws, and it looks like Bethel is thinking about adding a few new ones.
According to The News Times, a hearing will take place next week to discuss five new ordinances that are being debated. This meeting will occur at the Bethel Municipal Center at 7 p.m. next Tuesday, Oct. 6.
Five proposed ordinances would begin penalties for doing these:
1. Dumping yard debris or snow on public streets
2. Restrict the hours of heavy construction and other noisy activities
3. Prohibit unauthorized overnight parking on town-owned properties
4. Increase property tax exemptions for military veterans.
5. A limitation of liability ordinance to align with certain state statutes.
If you check out bethel-ct.gov, it has a much more in depth explanation of these new ordinances.
