In the 37 years I've lived in Connecticut, I've experienced two episodes of unexplained phenomena, perhaps from the other-side.

I wasn't sure if I believed in paranormal activity or if a psychic/medium could communicate with the dead until these two incidents actually happened.

Something a Child Said

This is something I will never forget. In the summer of 1988, a good friend and I were just hangin' around having a beer when all of a sudden he got this panicked look on his face. I asked him if anything was wrong. He turned his face away like he wanted to tell me something, but seemed to be wrestling with himself about whether or not he should. After about 2 minutes of silence, he turned to face me and said,

Yesterday my 5-year-old, Brandon, asked me point blank, 'What do you see through the black circles in my eyes when you're controlling me at school?'

Not surprising, my friend was freaked out! His son walked out of the room and went to play with his matchbox cars and never mentioned it again and neither did my friend.

Your Parents are Standing on Either Side of You

This particular incident happened on the air at the radio station around 2002, on a day we had a psychic medium live in the studio with us, although I can't remember her name.

We were talking about relatives who had passed over, when the psychic looked at me and said that both of my parents were standing next to me. My father died in 1967 and my mother passed away in 1981, while I was on the air. She told me that "They were very proud of me and were impressed by what a good father I had become." The psychic also went on to say that, "They were so very sorry for leaving my brothers and I so soon."

I never said one word to the psychic/medium about how angry I was at both my mom and dad because they didn't take care of themselves when they were alive and ultimately caused their deaths. My dad died of a heart attack at the age of 40 and my mom was an alcoholic and passed away at 51. Needless to say, I totally lost it and had to leave the studio.

Mindy and I would like to wish all of you a happy and safe Halloween. My favorite Halloween candy - Peanut M&M's!
