While all eyes have been on the men's March Madness Tournament, the UConn Husky Ladies have quietly taken another step towards a National Championship.

For the 11th consecutive year Geno Auriemma and the Huskies are headed back to a familiar spot, the Final Four.

The Huskies extended their own record for consecutive women's Final Four appearances, now at eleven. UConn also secured its 19th overall Final Four appearance, breaking a tie with Tennessee for the most in women's Division I history.

The top seeded Huskies (36-0) advanced with 94-65 win over second seeded South Carolina on Monday night in Albany. It was the first time the last two National Championship teams met in the Tournament since back in 1997 when UConn faced Tennessee.

Last year the Huskies season and 111 game winning streak ending in the final 4 to Mississippi State, and South Carolina won its first title, beating Mississippi State, 67-55 in the championship game.

This year, the Huskies are vying to get back to the National Championship Game. They have been rolling through the first few rounds of the Tournament with big wins over St. Francis 140-52, a 71-46 win over Quinnipiac, a 72-59 victory over Duke, and Monday nights 94-65 win over South Carolina.

Next up for UConn is Notre Dame who beat Oregon to advance to the Final 4. A UConn win would have the Huskies back where they belong — in the National Championship Game trying to win their 12th title.
