They may have been dancing to some of her music this past Saturday at the 18-hour Husky-Thon at the University of Connecticut, but why did Taylor Swift offer support in the form of a donation?

According to wfsb.com, the UConn dance marathon, which started on Saturday night and continued until noon on Sunday, had students doing their best dance moves to benefit the Connecticut Children's Medical Center and the Children's Miracle Network.

So, how did Taylor Swift not only find out about the event, but make a sizable donation?


The Pop/Country Star donated $1989 Dollars, in honor of her Grammy-winning album, 1989, and helped the Husky-Thon surpass their goal of $700,000.
