Upsetting news to report, as Connecticut State Police made a grisly discovery early Saturday morning (July 21).

WFSB.com reports that State Troopers responded to an early morning call, which led them to a body floating in the waters of Lake Lillinonah.

The body was found near the boat launch of the lake in Bridgewater that also borders the town of Brookfield. When Troopers arrived, they retrieved the body and it reportedly  showed no signs of life. The deceased person was sent to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner. A cause of death has not yet been established and the person has not yet been identified.

Connecticut State Police do not believe that any foul play was involved in the death. Tests are being conducted to determine the cause and who the person is.

I hope that the unknown person is identified soon and that the friends and family of whoever the person is can soon get some closure.
