Today is National Junk Food Day, so what better day to explore some new junk food options? I'm usually up for trying new things, as long as they don't sound too weird.

CNN has put together a list of nine weird sounding snacks in honor of today.

  1. Heinz Sriracha Ketchup - This is something that my husband would try. The reviewers in the article say that it's not overpowering, but still gives the ketchup a good kick.
  2. Amp Energy Zero Blueberry White Grape Drink - The reviewers both agreed that the mix of flavors between blueberry and white grape was actually surprisingly good. So if you like energy drinks, you might want to seek this one out.
  3. General Mills 'Star Wars' Cereal - Cereals like this always bring me back to my childhood. The cereal even includes marshmallow shapes of Star Wars characters!
  4. Trader Joe's Baconesque Popcorn - Bacon and popcorn? I'll try it! From what the reviewers say, it's delicious. One of them actually slapped the other's hand away from the bag. They also point out that it's kosher. It's not marked as vegetarian, but the bacon is just bacon flavor, not real bacon.
  5. Kellogg's Special K Popped Delights (Cocoa with Fudge Drizzle) - I've actually had these before. They're pretty good. There's more flavor than with the traditional rice cake and they're packaged for individual serving.
  6. Pepperidge Farm Honey Bun Goldfish Grahams - These sound pretty good. I have a feeling if you like Teddy Grahams you will like these. The reviewers sounded pretty happy with them and one even suggested putting them on ice cream. Yum!
  7. Snyder's of Hanover Gluten-Free Hot Buffalo Wing Pretzel Sticks - I love the Honey Mustard and Onion Pretzels from Snyder's, so I might be willing to try these. The reviewers said that they tasted pretty good, especially for being gluten-free pretzels. They're not too spicy, but do have a little kick.
  8. Nabisco Toasted Coconut and Sea Salt Truiscuits (Martha Stewart edition) - They reviewers were split on their decision of this snack. One felt that all the flavors did not go together, while the other really enjoyed the combination. It's a limited edition for the summer, so if you want to try it I would start tracking it down now before it's gone.
  9. Sunshine Extra Toasty Cheez-its - This is another one that received mixed reviews. One loved the extra toasty flavor, while the other could not tell the difference between the extra toasty and the original Cheez-its. I haven't tasted these yet, but I feel like calling extra toasty a flavor is pushing it a little bit.
