No lie, I am horrified anytime I drive with someone who doesn't wear their seat belt. Yes, even this fashionista will wrinkle any article of clothing by buckling up. I've even started to refuse to drive with friends who won't put their's on. Seems like I'm not alone.

In a press release from October 14, the Connecticut Department of Transportation says the number of people who wear seat belts in Connecticut is up by four percent over last year, and currently stands at over 89%.

The Connecticut State Police and local law enforcement agencies say that their ongoing Click it or Ticket enforcement campaign has helped convince people to obey the law and fasten their seat belts. Over 100 state and local law enforcement agencies participate, handing out $92 tickets to people not wearing their seat belts. Back to my vigilance about seat belt use. I'm totally with the statement from Dora B. Schriro, Commissioner of the Department of Emergency Services and Public Protection:

It only takes a second to save a life. Please, make sure everyone's seatbelt is fastened before you get onto the road. It's the best second you'll ever spend.
