Back in April, the Real Estate website, Movoto, came out with the most dangerous places to live in New York State. To get their list, they took into account FBI statistics for murder, rape, robbery, assault, burglary, theft and vehicle theft.

Keep in mind, some areas don't even provide their numbers to the FBI and no place with less than 10,000 citizens was even considered. After they filtered all of that info they came up with this list, and here's what I have to say about it:

#10 - Utica, NY - Never been there and I am thankful for that.

#9 - Albany, NY - For a brief period, I lived just outside of Albany in Troy. Troy should be on this list. Albany is terrible. We used to make the ten minute ride from Troy to Albany to party. You have to be partying to even muster a smile. I'm also not allowed back in a certain comedy club in Albany -- there was an incident after one of my stand up shows.

#8 - Binghamton, NY - Been there. Saw a guy and his dog peeing on a dumpster at the same time.

#7 - Village of Johnson City, NY - Never been, and I plan on keeping it that way.

#6 - Newburgh, NY - Of course I have been there. I always knew it was terrible, but while researching for this blog, I learned that it shows up on every single list like this one. Bad schools, high crime rate, you name it. Newburgh coming in as a hot, steaming pile of dog mess.

#5 - Schenectady, NY - Never been. I hope I don't have a reason to go.

#4 - Niagra Falls, NY - I had a show at the Seneca Niagra Resort and Casino years ago. It was my first time in Niagra Falls and it will be my last. As depressing a place as I have ever seen.

#3 - Syracuse, NY - Went there for a business trip years ago. What a dump.

#2 - Rochester, NY - Ethan Carey's hometown still sucks.

#1 - Buffalo, NY - Never been there, but from the Buffalo Bills tailgating videos I have seen online, I know I don't want to go. Watching fat people have sex in a stadium parking lot just feet from the grill where they prepare the food is not my idea of a good time.

I guess NY State is awesome as long as you don't go north of Dutchess County.
