If I wasn't such a middle aged porker, I'd be eatin' me some ice cream every single damn day! One of my weaknesses are MILKSHAKES.

For my fellow milkshake lovers, I'm going to do you a favor and tell you about 5 different locations in the Greater Danbury area that serve up award winning milkshakes.

1. Ferris Acres Creamery  - Located on Route 302 in Newtown, this is my favorite ice cream shoppe of all time. All of their ice cream is homemade, and they offer dozens of everyday flavors along with a specials board of flavors that changes all the time. Make sure that if you're ordering a milkshake, go with their Premium Milkshakes made with any of their amazing varieties of ice cream. My favorite shakes are made with their Route 302 Chocolate Moo and their Paradise Found flavors. Can you say Ice Cream Orgasm?

2. Dr. Mike's - Located at 158 Greenwood Ave. in Bethel, Dr. Mike's is another ice cream shoppe that makes its own ice cream which is the only way to go when you're ordering up a milkshake. You must try your milkshake with one of their most popular flavors, Chocolate Lace.

3. Red Rooster - The "Rooster" is a legendary road food take out restaurant on Route 22 in Brewster. They have a weak FB page and no website to speak of, but they do have your basic burgers, dogs, chicken, and fries, and they have outdoor picnic tables to relax and eat. After your cheeseburger and fries, you might want to play some mini-golf, and then, after your food digests, go back inside and order up a Mocha Milkshake for the ride home. Make sure to have cash on hand here because they don't accept any cards.

4. Sycamore Drive-In - Just about anyone who's lived in the Greater Danbury area for a time, knows about the classic Sycamore Drive-In in Bethel. The restaurant looks like a scene right out of the movie, American Graffiti. Since 1948, the Sycamore's been serving up their legendary French Style Steakburgers and Dagwood Burgers. Yes, they still offer car hop service and cruise nights. Not many ice cream flavors on the menu, but their chocolate, vanilla, and strawberry hand dipped ice cream make for mouth watering milkshakes.

5. J.K's Original - Four generations and 80 years later, the same family has owned this legendary Danbury restaurant. You can get your original texas hot weiners, burgers, club sandwiches, and curly fries. You name it and they've got it at J.K's on South Street right near Roger's Park. Milkshakes are made from 100% whole milk and fresh ice cream. A hot dog, curly fries and a chocolate shake and your in heaven!
