I remember I was in the first couple weeks of high school at Norwalk High School in Norwalk, CT. I was only 14 years old, and starting high school was a daunting thing. Will I be okay? Will I make friends? Will I do well in school? All of those fears evaporated when I walked into my 2nd period English class. Everyone was huddling around the television. "What was going on?", I wondered. "What was on the TV that had everyone completely enthralled?". And then I saw it. Smoke billowing out of the beautiful Twin Tower. I was confused, I was scared, and I could feel everyone else's emotions in the room as well. Even my teacher couldn't mask his own uneasiness. And then I saw the 2nd plane hit the 2nd tower live on TV. The broadcasters on TV were at a loss for words. What was going on in our world? All of that would unfold as the day moved forward.

Nothing makes me feel more connected  and comforted to everyone else in the world then when we talk about where we were when the first tower was hit at 8:46 am Tuesday, September 11th, 2001. It's almost like an unspoken bond that people have with each other. We were all going through the same thing at the same time, yet we each have a different story to tell about it.

Where were you when the 9/11 attacks happened? I would love to know...
