10 of the Best Cheeseburger Joints in Greater Danbury
It's a great day for a cheeseburger on National Cheeseburger Day!
Cheeseburgers rule, especially when they're created with top quality ground round beef with a Ciabatta or Kaiser bun. When I cook up cheeseburgers at home, I'll buy one pound of the leanest beef I can find and mix in a package of onion soup mix with a splash of A1 Sauce and a splash of Soy Sauce along with a healthy sprinkle of salt and pepper. Mmmm Mmmmm! According to cheeseburger lovers in greater Danbury, I've listed 10 of the best locations to find a succulent mouth watering cheeseburger on National Cheeseburger Day 2018.
The Zoar Burger took 1st Place in the USA Today's Top 10 Reader's Choice poll.
Yelp reviewers give the Lake Zoar Drive-In a 4.5 out of 5 rating.
Not that it should make a difference, but the Whitehorse is one of my top 3 favorite restaurants in Connecticut.
Connecticut Magazine's 2018 Reader's Poll voted the Whitehorse Country Pub as the #1 restaurant for the best burger in the state.
Located just past the Rt. 37/Rt. 39 intersection in New Fairfield, Olde 37 receives a 4/5 on Yelp and has been cooking up grass fed burgers for the last 10 years.
All of Olde 37's grass fed ground beef comes from the Josef Meiller Farm and Slaughterhouse in Pine Plains, NY.
Campy's Cookout at 527 Federal Rd. in Brookfield is a newcomer to our 'Best Of' lists deservedly so as it earns a 4.5/5 on the Yelp site.
The rave at Campy's is the Chili Cheeseburger which according to Yelp reviewers is a gastronomical delight not to mention the super friendly service.
JK's is what Danbury is all about, tradition. Originally opened in 1924 on West St. and then moved to 126 South St. in 1974, JK's has been owned by the same family for over 80 years and 4 generations. Simply amazing!
With a solid 4/5 Yelp rating, JK's is not only A+ in the burgers and hot dogs department but it's a slice of Americana in downtown Danbury.
Whenever I'm talking about the best cheeseburgers in the area, someone always brings up Blazers. Located at 440 Rt. 22 Blazers was named Best Burger in Westchester by Zagat.
You absolutely must try one of their 'Blazer Burgers!' The 'Rt. 22 Burger' is also a huge winner covered in gorgonzola cheese. Mmmmmmm!
Honestly, this is a new one to me. Maybe I should get out more often. The Zawack Shack is a food truck located on Rt.7 directly across from the Days Inn at 296 Ethan Allen Highway.
With a Yelp rating of 5/5, reviewers claim it's the best of the best when it comes to both burgers and dogs.
The Little Pub is located at 59 Ethan Allen Highway(Rt.7) in Ridgefield and scores 4/5 on Yelp.
What I find fascinating is they offer 12 different burgers from their 'You'll Need Three Hands' to their 'Double Onion' which is my fav. Their burger menu confirms America's love affair with bacon. Check out their menu at littlepub.com.
