Danbury Police arrested two men on drug charges Tuesday night (June 19) after the two were observed on Woodside Avenue making an alleged drug transaction.

According to a release from the Danbury Police Department, investigators had been investigating the area for several weeks after citizen complaints of drug sales.

At approximately 7:19 p.m., investigators from the Special Investigations Division, General Investigations and Patrol watched Mean Samrith park his car in the driveway of 16 Woodside Ave, Danbury, CT.  As he sat in his car, an occupant of that address, Savuth Luch, exited the house and entered Samrith’s car.  When investigators began to approach the car, Luch had exited Samrith’s car and was entering the front door of 16 Woodside Ave.  After securing Samrith, investigators immediately contacted Luch, who was in possession of crack cocaine, which he had just purchased from Samrith.  Based on the findings, both were placed under arrest.  Based on a later search of Samrith’s car, person and residence, Samrith was found to be in possession of crack, powder cocaine and drug paraphernalia.

Samrith, 37, of Danbury, was charged with:
Possession of a controlled substance (2 counts)
Sale of crack cocaine
Possession of a controlled substance with the intent to sell (2cts)
Sale of controlled substance within 1500’ protected place
Possession of a controlled substance within 1500' protected place (2 counts)
Possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell within 1500' protected place (2 counts)
Poss. of drug para.
Poss. of drug para.within 1500’ protected place
Risk of injury of a child (3cts)

Luch, also of Danbury, was charged with:
Possession of a controlled substance
Possession of a controlled substance within 1500' prohibited place
