About 25 local people couldn't sleep in their beds on Thursday (March 21) as the result of a two-alarm fire in Danbury.

According to the Danbury Fire Department, they were alerted to a fire at 5 Main Street after it was reported that there was smoke coming form the second floor. Minutes after firefighters arrived, the incident was upgraded to a second alarm, prompting more units to respond.

The DFD reportedly made short work of the fire that was within in the floor and walls of some of the second floor apartments and no injuries were reported, with minimal damage to the building.

Despite the situation being put under control with ease, however, the American Red Cross of Connecticut was on the scene to assist the two dozen people who needed a place to stay for the night.

The Danbury Fire Marshal's office is currently investigating the fire, but no cause has been determined just yet.
