700,000 pounds of machinery loaded on a flatbed is expected to close down sections of Route 7 in New Milford.

The transformer is headed to the Cricket Valley Energy Center in Dover Plains, NY according to the NewsTimes. As of right now, the State Department of Transportation is aiming for transport on January 14 but that date has not been confirmed. Check out the following YouTube video to get an idea about the size and speed of the transport.

The section of Route 7 between Picket District Road and Route 55 will be closed down until the 12 axle flatbed trailer with its 350-ton cargo passes through. Parts of Route 55 in Sherman and New Milford might also be affected.

The good news is that usually this type of transport happens late at night or in the wee hours of the morning. If everything goes as planned, the DOT told the NewsTimes their target transport time will be from 8:30 pm until 5 am on January 21.
