A Klingon may be headed to Washington D.C. to represent New Yorkers in the House, but the plot thickens. He's running as Mark Twain. Again, I say -- only in New York. Let me explain:

Actor, J.G. Hertzler, who memorably played Klingon General, Martok, on Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, actually broke records for playing eight different Star Trek characters. He hails from Ulysses, a small town in Western New York, and TheHill.com says at the age of 67, he’s running as a Democrat for Republican Tom Reed’s House of Representatives seat in the 23rd District of the state. To make things really weird get this next bit of info. He says he's running for office under the persona of Mark Twain. TheHill.com quotes him as saying:

I am running in the persona of Mark Twain. I will be making appearances throughout the district of 11 counties, sometimes in my birth persona as JG Hertzler, and at other times, I will endeavor to present my ideas and policies through the brilliant humorist for all ages, Citizen Twain.

Okay, well at least we know he won’t be speaking in Klingon to voters. This is going be one to watch from all the way from over here in New York's Hudson Valley.
