Everyone loves a lab, that's why they are the most popular breed of dog year after year. Today, we have a rare opportunity for you to adopt a chocolate lab, and her name is Abby.

Labs are a great breed. They are loving, faithful, and are extremely smart, that's why when one becomes available, they don't stay at the Animal Welfare Society for long.

Abby is a senior dog, about 10 or 11 years old. She came to the animal welfare society as a stray from down south. She is a little on the heavy side, but nothing that a strict diet wouldn't fix. Now that Abby's here, she's looking for her new forever home.

If you're looking for an already trained lab who loves people, loves taking walks and is a 100% pure bred, then Abby may be the dog for you.

For more information about Abby, and all the other adoptable Dogs and Cats, call the Animal Welfare Society at (860) 354-1350 or visit them on Dodd Road in New Milford.

They’re open Tuesday from 11 AM to 7 PM, and Wednesday through Saturday from 11 AM to 2 PM.
