The crazy weather that we have been experiencing isn't over yet.

The National Weather Service has issued several Hazardous Weather Warnings for our area which include severe thunderstorms, heat advisories, gusty winds, even an Air Quality Alert.

The Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection has enforced an Air Quality Action Day until 11pm tonight. What that means is that breathing may become difficult, especially in those who already have respiratory issues due to the Ozone at ground level rising above healthy limits.

A Heat Advisory is in effect until 8pm tonight. The combination of high heat and humidity can cause emergency health issues. If you plan on doing any work outside, The Occupational Safety and Health Administration advises taking breaks in the shade or take refuge in an air conditioned area.

Anyone overcome by heat should be moved to a cool and shaded location. Heat stroke is an emergency! In cases of heat stroke call 9 1 1 - The Occupational Safety and Health Administration
