Not only has Amazon opened up hundreds of job opportunities in the Danbury area, but in celebration of the launch of the Danbury delivery station, Amazon gladly took care of $10,000 worth of Amazon wish-list items for the Women's Center of Greater Danbury.

With the opening of Amazon's new facility in Danbury comes the opportunity for entrepreneurs to build their own business delivering Amazon packages. If you're already an independent delivery contractor and would like to run packages for Amazon Flex, check out the website, flex.amazon.com.

The new Amazon delivery station in Danbury is part of the last leg of the order process. Packages are shipped to a delivery station from neighboring Amazon Fulfillment and Sortation Centers, where they are loaded onto delivery vehicles and delivered directly to customers.

Amazon has generated more than 8,500 jobs throughout Connecticut along with more than $2.1 billion in investments. All things combined adds an additional $1.7 billion to the states economy.
