The Village Tavern has closed down and become the latest casualty on Main Street in Ridgefield.

It just opened back in 2017, but the Village Tavern has officially closed their doors and according to patch.com. Despite no listed reasons or any correlation between the closings, Village Tavern now joins five other Main Street businesses that have closed just since December.

As reported at newstimes.com back in early 2017, the co-owners of the Restaurant, Bruno DiFabio and Chef Germano Minin, first met on the Food Network's Chopped. The chef was a contestant on the "Pizza Perfect" episode, and DiFabio, who was a six time World Pizza Champion was one of the judges.

Back in October, DiFabio, who has operated a number of pizza restaurants in Connecticut and New York, pleaded guilty to tax evasion and is awaiting sentencing. He could face up to 5 years in prison, a fine of 1.6 million, and must pay the IRS all back taxes owed.
