Here we go again. It's another coastal storm that will bring heavy rain to our area today and tonight. Just in time for your commute home today, a coastal storm is expected to bring more heavy rain to the area, with the possibility of local flooding.

The National Weather Service is predicting another one to two inches of rain before it tappers off and ends by early tomorrow morning. Here's the official word from the NWS:

As low pressure moves from the Ohio River Valley to the lower Great Lakes today, a secondary low will form over the coastal Mid Atlantic this afternoon, rapidly intensify as it moves across Long Island this evening, then pass to the north late tonight through Thursday.

The best chance for heavy rain in our area is between 2 pm this afternoon and 11 pm tonight, plus there's a coastal flood warning in effect for southern Fairfield and New Haven Counties from noon until 3 pm today, and again from midnight till 4 am tomorrow.
Also look for strong winds today with the possibility of 30 to 40 mph gusts later today and tonight.
