Should the Mets Draft These Western Connecticut Ball Players?

The New York Mets are dreadful. Everyone's hurt and they need help. Personally, I think I have a solution.

Of course, the Mets most likely won't bring up High School baseball players since it's such a rare practice. There have only been two players in the past 20 years that have gone to the Big Show straight out of High School, but wouldn't it be cool if some local players go that kind of love?

After some intense research, I've come up with some all-star high school player suggestions Mets fans just might like, so listen up Sandy Alderson.

Mike Halas - Mike was the catcher for the Danbury Hatters with a .316 batting average in his senior year. Mike signed a letter of intent to play his college ball at West Point. Good luck from all of us, Mike!

Kenny Martinez - Plays the outfield, designated hitter, and is a right-handed pitcher for Danbury High. He has many talents that the NY Mets could utilize. Kenny was batting .333 and will play one more season with the Hatters before he graduates in 2018.

Ben Casparius - RHP pitcher for Staples High in Westport. Casparius was ranked #83 in the country by baseballfactory.com, and was named Hearst Connecticut Media baseball MVP in May of 2017. Ben was one of the best hitters, best pitchers, and third basemen in all of high school ball in 2017. He just began his freshman year at the University of North Carolina, which is a Division 1 school.

Colin Motill - A standout second basemen for the Ridgefield Tigers, Colin hit .353 during the 2017 and was named to the All-FCIAC team.
