Two wonderful events are coming up in October that will give you the chance to hang with the Brookfield Police Department.

Kudos to the Brookfield Police Department for all that they do in our community day in and day out. As October approaches, I'd love for you to put these two special events dates on your calendar.

Enjoy a night out on Thursday, October 6 from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. at 189 Sports Cafe located at 189 Federal Road in Brookfield, and help the Special Olympics Athletes of Connecticut. Tip a Cop is back, and the Brookfield Police Officers will be serving tables and collecting donations for Special Olympics Connecticut. As always, your donation will help support the Special Olympics athletes in our community.

It would be great if you'd click on the Facebook page for Brookfield Tip a Cop and let them know your interested in attending. Why cook in when you can dine out for a fantastic cause.

Then on Saturday October 8 you can be part of a national movement known as, Coffee With a Cop. No Agendas - No Speeches - Just Coffee & Conversation

Brookfield Coffee With a Cop is October 8 from 8 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at Brookfield Deli & Catering, 782 Federal Road in Brookfield. The Brookfield Police Department is there for you to voice concerns, ask questions, or just have a cup of coffee and say hi.

When a community comes together, it's such a positive thing. Keeping the lines of communication open between people and our police departments is of paramount importance.
