The bridge that spans Lake Lillinonah on Route 133 in Brookfield will be shutting down for construction.

According to the Brookfield Police Department's FB page, the CT DOT has announced that the bridge will be closing temporarily for repair work beginning Friday, June 21 at 10 pm and will reopen on Monday, June 24 at 5 am. Detours will be clearly marked utilizing Route 67, Routes 7/202, and Route 25

This is not the first time the Route 133 bridge has undergone repairs. The bridge was constructed in 1955 and was repaired in 1998 and 2011. In 2015, the state found the bridge, "structurally deficient and functionally obsolete." Not to worry though because the bridge is still safe to drive over.

My question is, Why doesn't this bridge have a proper name? It's called 'the Route 133 Bridge.' How incredibly lame is that?! The bridge offers one of the best views of Lake Lillinonah which by itself is reason enough to give it a proper name. Any suggestions? Check out a drone's eye view of Lake Lillinonah.
