Cell phones are great, they keep us connected no matter where we are....Well let's not go that far, at least not yet.

Many of us are all too familiar with that cell phone conversation that goes..."Hello...are you there....can you hear me....hello....I must have lost you !!!!

According to newstimes.com there is a reason that you have to have that conversation. According to the FCC. there are a number of factors that affect cell phone service:

  • distance from a tower,
  • number of people using that tower
  • and the topography of your surroundings

A dropped call usually occurs when you are on the move and there are too few (or no) cell sites in the area where you are traveling. A dropped call also could result from a weakening of the signal from the cell site that carries your call and/or the failure of the call in progress to be handed off to another cell site.

Check out the list to see where your town ranks in the cell phone service battle.
