The unprecedented storm that hit our part of the state remains devastating on so many levels. Here's what one town is doing to lessen the burden a bit.

There really are no words for the loss of life and property that occurred in numerous towns and cities in Connecticut on Tuesday May 15th. It will take months, possibly even years for certain sections to fully recover. The loss of trees and the ensuing limbs and brush left behind can be overwhelming. The town of Bethel just announced a bit of a helping hand on their Facebook page.

According to the website for Bethel Connecticut's Transfer Station there is normally a fee associated for brush and limbs but through June 2nd it will be waived for brush for Bethel residents. You must have an I.D. to confirm they live in Bethel.
The Transfer Station is located off Route 53 at 1 Sympaug Park Road, behind the Highway Department.

The facility is open as follows:

Tuesday: 7:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.. (Closing for Lunch at 12:00 p.m. till 1:00 p.m.)
Thursday: 7:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. (Closing for Lunch at 12:00 p.m. till 1:00 p.m.)
Friday : 7:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. ( Closing at Noon, Not Reopening Till Saturday)
Saturday: 7:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. (Closing for Lunch at 12:00 p.m. till 1:00 p.m.)

Every little bit helps.
